The Hub for Immersive and Virtual Experiences (HIVE) is a physical, mobile and virtual space to explore and better understand what virtual and immersive technologies can do to enhance USQ teaching and learning experiences.
Physical HIVE
The physical HIVE is based in S108 Toowoomba Campus and a drop-in space to learn more about virtual and immersive learning technologies.
Mobile HIVE
The HIVE regularly visits our Springfield and Ipswich campuses.
Virtual HIVE
Useful information including resources sharing, webinars, and blog posts are available on this website.
HIVE SIG
The HIVE Special Interest Group (SIG) is a community of practice of USQ staff interested in sharing and developing their knowledge and skills of virtual and immersive technologies for learning such as VR, AR, Lightboards, and 360 degree video. Find out more.
Engaging science grant
Following a successful application for a Queensland Engaging Science Grant, the USQ HIVE team will be working with the Centre for Astrophysics, regional schools, and career-bound high school students to help bring the Mt. Kent Observatory to “virtual” life and showcase potential space science careers.
